M. Morgan Warren
has been painting over 24 years and is regarded as one of North
America's finest painters of birds. Her award-winning watercolour
works are known for their natural charm, anatomical accuracy and meticulous
detail.
Her paintings are found in many private collections, including that of
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Shortly
after the surprise royal request for presentation of her work to Philip
in person, Ms. Warren was granted the rare privilege of making a personal
gift of another of her paintings to Her Majesty, Queen
Elizabeth II. (Royal protocol ordinarily prohibits personal
gifts to the Monarch).
At
exclusive invitation of the DeYoung Museum of
Fine Arts in San Francisco, she demonstrated Audubon's techniques
for visitors to the national Audubon Birds of
America Exhibition, March 1996, the first public exhibition of
his paintings in over 100 years.
Her work has illustrated the covers of many publications, including the Sierra Club Foundation 1997 Annual Report. Canadians will recognize her 1994-5 and 1995-6 Save the Children Fund cards.
While the waiting list for her original paintings is almost two years, her 33 fine art prints and artcards of 29 species are available. Her studio is located in North Saanich near Victoria, British Columbia, on the east coast of Canada's Vancouver Island near Seattle, Washington.
