After hearing through the royal grapevine that Her Majesty had rather liked Philip's newly-acquired remarque, Ms. Warren offered HM a special birthday present, in recognition of Her patronage of the Save the Children Fund of Canada.

Ms. Warren planned to render Balmoral Castle as it looked when the Queen spent her early summers there.  However, the originally simple remarque grew to span the entire print.

A CHRISTMAS LEGEND
 
Two thousand years ago
A king was crowned
With mockery and scorn;
On that day
A bird flew down
And plucked a thorn
From His noble brow
To try and ease the pain,
Staining sombre plumes
With royal blood:
Today, with breast aglow
- Badge of a selfless deed -
The blessed robin
Heralds Christmastide.
